Charges & transparency

What you pay, and who is charging it.

Most of what you pay when you invest is statutory and identical whichever broker you use. Here is what each item is — and where to find the authoritative, current figures.

Why there are no rates on this page

Rates change — statutory ones by law, brokerage by the broker. A figure typed onto a website goes stale quietly, and a stale figure about money is worse than no figure at all. So this page explains the charges and sends you to the official tariff for the numbers, which is always current.

Check it yourself

After every trading day your broker sends a contract note itemising each of these charges for each trade. It is the authoritative record of what you were charged, and reading one in full — once — is the fastest way to stop finding costs abstract.

If a line on a contract note does not make sense to you, ask us. That is a normal thing to ask, and it is part of what we are here for.

Charges are set by Angel One Limited, the exchanges, the depositories and by statute, and are subject to change. Angel One Limited’s published tariff and your contract note are the authoritative sources. Nothing on this page is a quotation.
